Dr Ben McDonald

Dr. Ben McDonald's was born in Birmingham, AL. Dr. McDonald experienced a nomadic early childhood before settling in Mobile, AL, where he completed both his high school and college education, the latter with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry and business.

His passion for medicine led him to the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM) in Dothan, Alabama, where not only did he excel in his studies but was also honored with the Family Medicine Award. Following medical school, Dr. McDonald furthered his training at South Baldwin Family Medicine Residency, where he distinguished himself by becoming a 3rd-year chief resident and earning the Society of Teachers Family Resident Teaching Award.

Dr. McDonald has a fervent commitment to medical education, actively teaching ACOM's third and fourth-year medical students, delivering lectures at South Baldwin Family Medicine Residency, and serving as a mentor through clinical outpatient electives for residents. His dedication to service and education in rural medicine was recognized with the prestigious Alabama Rural Medical Service Award (ARMSA).

Outside the hospital, Dr. McDonald is deeply devoted to his family. He is married to his best friend and soul mate, and a proud father to two wonderful children. The family is completed by their two beloved dogs. His leisure time is spent enjoying the outdoors, whether it be hiking, camping, or engaging in sports, with family and friends by his side.

Dr. McDonald's career is a testament to his dedication to family medicine, education, and community service, making him a valued member of the medical community and an inspiration to those entering the field.
